Shabby Style Clutch Purse Crochet Pattern by Emi

Here’s a super fun and easy clutch purse to crochet.  Watch the video tutorial or download the pattern to make your own in no time!

Materials:

Worsted weight yarn

6.5 mm crochet hook

Yarn needle

Zipper

Buttons or pearls

Sewing needle and thread



 

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Working with 2 strands of worsted weight yarn, chain 15 (or more)

2. Single crochet in the 2 nd stitch from the hook, and each stitch of the chain.

3. Repeat step 2, for as many rows as needed for your desired size of purse.

This design added fun yarn to 2 rows on the front. Fasten off.

4. Pin and hand sew the zipper onto the ends of the rectangle. (See video for a demonstration. Sew the side seams of the purse with matching yarn and a yarn needle. Sew a ribbon, cord, or round wooden ring on for a handle. Add fringe into the zipper head to make it easier to open and close.

 

 

 

FLOWER: Chain 5, slip stitch to join and form a ring. *single crochet in the ring, 3 double crochet in the ring, repeat from * to make a total of 4 petals in the ring, slip stitch to join in the first single crochet, fasten off. Sew a button or pearl in the center and sew onto the purse. (4 flowers were added to this design.) Attach brooches, pins, buttons, or barrettes to the front as embellishments.

Free Crochet Pattern – Granny Square Pillow Cover

Freshen up some pillows for Spring by covering up old ones using the super simple double crochet granny square pillow cover pattern.  All double crochet stitches, (no shells), gives a more closed in granny square!
This granny square works up quickly, and then application of the square in a diagonal way will give you 2 looks for your pillows, different on each side.  Perfect for a decorative pillow on your bed!!

MATERIALS:

Worsted weight yarn

6.5 mm crochet hook, (or any size hook)

Yarn needle

 

 

 

INSTRUCTIONS: 

  1. Chain 5, slip stitch to join and form a ring.
  2. Chain 2, make 15 double crochet in the ring, slip stitch to join in the top of the chain 2.
  3. Chain 2 and turn, in the same stitch make: double crochet, chain 1, double crochet.

*Double crochet in the next 3 stitches.

In the next stitch make: 2 double crochet, chain 1, 2 double crochet.

Repeat from * around, slip stitch to join in the top of the chain 2.

  1.  FOR EVERY ROW:

Chain 2 and turn, *double crochet in each stitch up to the corner.

In the corner make: 2 double crochet, chain 1, 2 double crochet.

Repeat from * around, slip stitch to join in the top of the chain 2.

Repeat step 4 until the granny square is as large as desired.  Fasten off.

Bring all the corners together, (envelope style), sew the bottom 2 seams, stuff the pillow inside, then sew the remaining 2 seams.
